Ohio Northern University has announced that all members of the ONU community will wear masks indoors, if not in a personal office or residence hall space, beginning on Aug. 9.
Due to the level of transmission for Hardin County increasing from moderate (yellow) to substantial (orange), ONU is now requiring those who are vaccinated to wear masks indoors, a change that will be noted in the ONU Safety Plan. Those who are unvaccinated are already required to mask indoors as described in the ONU Safety Plan as well.
All unvaccinated students are required to provide a negative COVID test performed no more than five (5) days of arrival on campus for fall 2021 semester. The written test result from a healthcare provider (lab, retail pharmacy, hospital, doctor’s office, etc.) should be submitted electronically to [email protected]. (Scans or pictures of the test result are acceptable) Unvaccinated students who have had a documented COVID-19 infection in the 90 days prior to return to campus are not required to provide a negative COVID-19 test and should email their positive test result report to [email protected], and bring that report with them upon return to campus.
Fully vaccinated students are exempt from pre-arrival COVID-19 testing if they report their vaccination record to the Student Health Center by emailing [email protected]. Faculty and staff should report their vaccination record to Human Resources by uploading it to the PeopleAdmin portal at jobs.onu.edu/hr.
The ONU Safety Plan includes the most up-to-date information about the University’s response to COVID-19 and the measures intended to ensure your health and well-being. The plan can be found on the Ohio Northern University website.
Ohio Northern University will continue to monitor conditions and circumstances, and the safety plan for fall semester may change accordingly in keeping with what is in the best interest of the campus community.
