ADA - The Ada track and field team hosted its annual 15-team Ada Invitational on a cool but sunny Saturday at War Memorial Stadium.
Carey captured first in the girls meet with 112.33 points. Spencerville finished second with 102.5, and Van Wert came in third (99). The Lady Bulldogs came in seventh out of 14 teams with 36.5 points.
The boys meet title was taken easily by Van Wert with 133 points. Arlington won a crowded race for second with 76 points. Ada finished tied with LCC for 11th out of 15 teams with 19 points.
Senior Brenna Hissong took third in the 400-meter finals to post a top Ada girls finish. Sophomore Courtney Sumner also came in third in the long jump for the lady Bulldogs.
Sophomore Antonio Pettit took third in the 100 high hurdles to register the best Bulldog boys showing.
Van Wert also won the last Ada Invite boys crown in 2019, and VW finished second to Spencerville in the girls standings two years ago. Covid-19 cancelled the 2020 meet.
