Ada High School graduate Chase Sumner, an Ohio Northern sophomore, along with teammate Ben DePrest (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier) were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in wrestling for the 2020-21 season in voting conducted by the league's eight head coaches.
Sumner is ranked No. 5 nationally at 149 pounds and finished the abbreviated 2021 season with a perfect 4-0 record. He also had two pins and a tech fall in those four victories.
He is 41-6 with 13 pins and 4 tech falls in his two seasons as a Polar Bear.
DePrest had a breakout year in 2021, going 3-1 with one pin and a major decision at heavyweight after wrestling at 184 and 197 as a freshman a year ago.
He is 14-13 with six pins in his two-year career at Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears finished second in the OAC with a 3-1 team record this season under 33rd-year head coach Ron Beaschler.
