Three August events have Ada written all over them.
• On Thursday, Aug. 6, Ohio Northern University hosts a new program "Ada Adventure" as a part of its Welcome Weekend with new students.
Throughout the day (from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.) students will walk throughout the downtown area in small groups to explore the village. Ohio Northern University is hoping to point out all of the businesses and opportunities for the new students.
Jennifer L. Lambdin, Director of Student Involvement at Ohio Northern University, is available to talk with any businesses about this program and is encouraging businesses to consider student discounts that day. For more information contact Lambdin at 419-772-3968 or [email protected].
• Also on Aug. 6, Ada Rotary Club holds a carryout/drive-thru only chicken barbecue from 4:30-6 p.m. at Hays Insurance, 202 S. Main St.
Tickets are $9 per meal and include one-half chicken, baked beans and macaroni salad. Tickets are available at Quest Federal Credit Union or from any Rotary member or by calling 419-230-2250 or 419-303-0586.
• While the Village of Ada does not have plans to participate in the Lincoln Highway garage sale as it has in previous years, the Ada Icon will promote it.
This year’s sale is Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 13-15. Persons holding garage sales during the Lincoln Highway event may email them to [email protected]. Those sales will post the week of Aug. 10. All sales posted on the Icon will also appear on the Icon’s garage sale map.
