Ada High School 2020 graduates never thought they would fly this high.
While this year’s seniors have not experienced many of the year-end events celebrated by previous graduating classes they do have this first: Photos of each graduate is on a separate Main Street banner for the all world to see.
The banners are thanks to many donations from the community, driven by an effort from parents of the grads.
Seventy-five student photos are featured on the banners in the Ada Senior Project that started on April 21 with an account at Quest Federal Credit Union, according to Jennifer Wince, one of the parents guiding the project.
She told the Icon that several persons were involved including Dana Dukes who helped get photos of Apollo grads and Linda Crawford of The Way I See It Photography in Waynesfield who created the banners.
“A lot of the kids got excited about the project,” said Wince. “And, it took some time to collect all the pictures.”
Wince said that banners will fly until the end of June. At that time they will be hand-delivered to each student.
