This is a first for Ada, Ohio.
Can you name a time when a former resident was featured on the back page of Time magazine?
We can’t.
The honor goes to Ohio Northern University graduate Mike DeWine, who also happens to be the governor of Ohio. Time asks the ONU alum 8 interesting questions, including, “You talk about bipartisanship. Would you serve in a Biden Administration?”
The feature’s headline reads: “Mike DeWine Ohio’s Republican governor on being honest about coronavirus and getting what he needs from Washington.
Among others questions asked of the governor:
• You were the first governor in the country to announce the entire state school system would close, starting on March 16. You’ve been a step ahead on other things. Did you know something other governors didn’t?
•Your daily briefing has zero sugar-coating on it. Why?
• Your briefing could not be more different than the ones we see at the White House with President Trump. Any advice for him on those?
• Are you getting everything you need from Washington?
• It’s April 11. Do you have access to enough kits right now in Ohio, and are enough people being tested?
• Folks want to reopen business. How are you managing that backlash?
• Is this a time in which we might want to rethink the states’-rights argument?
