A message about COVID-19 from
Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral &
Cremation Services, Inc.
Hanson-Neely-Allison’s priority is the health and well-being of our families, guests, and funeral home staff.
We understand this is a fluid situation and are monitoring and evaluating developments of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the changing directives from the State of Ohio, Ohio Funeral Director Association, National Funeral Director Association and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
We and the State of Ohio still feel it is important to gather at a time of loss which is why the state has placed funeral homes on the list of exemptions for gatherings.
However, we also feel it important to attempt to meet the CDC recommendation of no event larger than 50 persons and the Governor of Ohio’s directive that Ohioans avoid unnecessary non-family social gatherings of more than 10 people.
We plan to comply with these recommendations by holding private family visitations and services with only immediate family in attendance, with less than 50 persons, and using video services such as Facebook live, facetime, etc. as ways for others to be part of services.
We ask that those at risk or those not feeling well stay home. You may reach out to the family via the memorial webpage on www.hansonneely.com, sending cards, or sending floral tributes. Families will be able to plan public services at a later date if they choose once the ban on gatherings has been lifted.
For families who are needing to make funeral arrangements, they may do so by phone, video conferencing, and/or email. We will be able to still meet at the funeral home for those who do not have the capabilities to do so electronically.
The State of Ohio has stated that whether an event or gathering falls within the definition of mass gathering, all persons are urged to maintain social distancing (approximately six feet away from other people) whenever possible and to continue to wash hands, utilize hand sanitizer and practice proper respiratory etiquette (coughing into elbow, etc.). We ask any person with any symptoms, including fever, refrain from visiting.
With this in mind, the funeral home is cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces more often and asking any person entering the funeral home to use hand sanitizer before entering our chapels. During this time, we also will not allow any food or drink in the funeral home. We understand the strain this puts on families.
Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services appreciates the trust families put in us and we are putting these rules in place to safeguard those families we serve as well as our funeral home staff.
If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Scott Allison and the staff at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services
