Dear Bulldog families, students, and community,
Our staff began a deep dive into concepts related to the “R Factor” and culture at the beginning of this school year.
On February 25, we were blessed to have had Tim Kight come speak to our staff to share these concepts with our teachers and staff, as well as with representatives of many other organizations who partner with us to educate our students.
Our Focus 3 Leadership Team has been studying these concepts and doing a professional book study on Above the Line by Urban Meyer. And suddenly, the world has become a hands-on, immersive study of these critical “life skills.”
If you are able to be home with your children, or if you are looking for a book to read that has the power to transform your professional and your personal life, Above the Line by Urban Meyer is a great option.
Below is a list of updates on a variety of topics. Please take some time to fully review these, as operations of the district may look different during this closure.
Offices
As of March 18, 2020, the only office that will be open is the Superintendent/Board Office (called the Central Office).
It will be open 8-4 (with a possible one-hour closure at lunch time). Calling ahead is the most seamless way to be sure the person you need will be there and available.
The Central Office can be accessed by parking in the Athletic Parking Lot and buzzing the bell. Health and Safety
Remember that this is not a spring break, nor is it a snow day. As such, we don’t recommend play dates, gatherings, shopping trips, or anything else that could put persons at risk.
What we want more than anything else, is to have everyone back together when school resumes.
As such, please review the recommendations for preventing this virus, fighting it, and recovering without long term disability.
Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; dry hands with a clean towel or air dry hands.
Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are unavailable.
Cover your mouth with a tissue or sleeve when sneezing or coughing.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands. Stay home when you are sick.
Avoid contact with people who are sick.
Clean high-touch areas – counters, tables, doorknobs, light switches, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, nightstands, etc., every day using household cleaning spray or wipes according to label directions.

To reach anyone associated with the district, please call (419) 634-6421.
Follow the prompts to reach the Central Office Voice Mail.
Please leave a message that includes:
Your name
Your number
With whom you think you need to speak
A brief explanation of what you need (so we can figure out who the right person would be to talk to regarding the issue you have raised).
You can email any staff member. Directory is found at: https://www.ada.k12.oh.us/staff.
Buildings and Grounds
NO PERSON should be in any school building or facility without prior approval from the Superintendent. Requests for access from personnel or non-personnel/community members should be made by calling 419-634-6421 and leaving a message for the Superintendent or by emailing [email protected] or [email protected]. Staff may email, text, or call Mrs. Skilliter via cell, but must get a response before proceeding to access the building.
For essential personnel who are granted access, please do NOT enter the building with a temperature of over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or respiratory symptoms (especially a cough).
Athletic
All athletic and extracurricular activities will be cancelled or postponed during the time that school is closed.
Meals
Meals for which you signed up to be delivered will be delivered between 7 and 7:30 a.m.
Listen for a knock or ring of the doorbell.
Come out to get bag(s) and refrigerate. Lunch and breakfast are in the same bag.
Meals being picked up must be picked up between 7:30 and 10 a.m. Earlier is better than later.
Volunteer organizers are working their way through the list of persons who signed up. If you haven’t been called yet, give us time to circulate through the list. We hope to be able to utilize everyone at least once.
We posted guidelines related to meals on our web page. Information is also included in each bag.
Counselors
Will work with administrators to arrange scheduling, checking messages, meet student needs, etc.
Please review the press release we posted on 3/17 regarding mental health/mental health crises in Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties and be prepared to share that resource with anyone reaching out to you.
Great Things Happening
We’ve seen so many neat things our teachers are doing.
We’ve gotten to laugh over great stories from digital and/or at home learning.
We would like to share those great things with our community.

We probably won’t be able to share everything, but we will do our best. We have great teachers, students, and families – we want the world to know it.
