Katayama wins two events at 15-team invitational

CELINA - Bulldog senior Klava Katayama won two events to pace the Ada swimmers at the annual 15-team Celina/Wapakoneta Lions Invitational meet Saturday.
The Lady Bulldog swimmers finished seventh out of 15 schools with 64 points, while the Bulldog boys came in ninth by scoring 34 points.
Katayama captured first in the 50 freestyle, and also touched first in the 100 butterfly.
Ada freshman Carlie Oldfield posted third-place finishes in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle.
Senior Isaac Spar finished fifth in the 100 butterfly and sixth in the 100 back to lead the Ada boys. Ian Dellifield also came in eighth in the 50 free.
Ottawa-Glandorf won the girls team title with 312 points to out-swim second-place Wapakoneta (224) and Celina (200) in third.
Wapakoneta captured the boys team crown by scoring 293 points, while Versailles came in second (215).
Wapak also won the combined boys/girls standings with 517 points. O-G scored 476 combined points to place second overall.
