The Ohio Northern women's basketball program will kick off its 2019-20 campaign under 19th-year head coach Michele Durand on Tuesday, November 12 with a road contest against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Anderson (Ind.) at 7 p.m.
Following their season opener, the Polar Bears will make a northwestern trek to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the 2019 Wisconsin Lutheran Tournament on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23. ONU is scheduled to face off against the tournament host on Friday evening before battling Wisconsin-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon.
After a nonconference date with area-rival Defiance on November 26, Ohio Northern will open its 2019 home slate and Ohio Athletic Conference schedule when Mount Union visits the ONU Sports Center on Saturday, December 7.
The Polar Bears follow-up the conference opener with OAC dates at Wilmington and Capital on December 11 and December 14, respectively, before taking a three-game break from league action.
Northern will wrap up its nonconference slate on the road with a contest against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletics Association power Trine (Ind.) on December 21 and a two-day trip to the Ohio Wesleyan Tournament on December 29 and 30.
ONU will ring in the new year with back-to-back home dates against OAC foes John Carroll and Heidelberg on January 4 and January 8, respectively. The league's double-round robin regular season format will also include home dates against Marietta on January 18, Capital on January 25, Wilmington on January 29, Baldwin Wallace on February 5, Otterbein on February 12, and Muskingum on February 22 for the regular season finale and the program's annual Senior Day contest.
Ohio Northern will also travel to Muskingum on January 11, Baldwin Wallace on January 15, Otterbein on January 22, Mount Union on February 1, Marietta on February 8, John Carroll on February 15, and Heidelberg on February 19.
The OAC Tournament is scheduled for February 25, 27, and 29 at venues around the conference based on tournament seeding.
During the 2018-19 campaign, the Polar Bears posted a 15-13 overall record and a 7-11 conference mark for its 10th consecutive winning season. Ohio Northern also received its 24th straight berth in the OAC Tournament during the campaign, reaching the program's third straight championship game to end the season.
