Nearly 130 students in grades 7 through 12 are having more than a measure of fun while honing their skills during the summer music camp at Ohio Northern University this week.
This is the 48th year of the camp, which is the longest-running music camp in Ohio. Camp director is Sarah Waters, associate professor of music at ONU,
Most of the students are from the region. There are also five students from Germany, two from Honduras, and campers from states such as West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana and North Carolina.
During this week at this camp, students are attending classes in music theory, music technology, conducting, dance, piano and jazz improvisation. Students also have the opportunity to perform in band, orchestra, choir and small ensembles to help build their skills.
