Elwanda J. Casper, age 97, died on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 12:08 p.m. at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on October 26, 1921 in Ada, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Bessie (Mull) Candler. On October 27, 1940 Elwanda married Alva E. Casper and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1996.
Elwanda retired from the Ada Schools where she had worked as a cook. She was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada. She was a former member of the Sugar Grovettes and a member of the TOPPS of Bluffton.
Elwanda is survived by her children: Dennis M. (JoAnna) Casper of Bluffton and Marsha J. (Robert) Stull of Ada; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Courtnie Morton officiating. Burial will be in Dola Cemetery, Dola.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19,at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada.
