Women's basketball moves up to No. 3 in USA Today coaches poll

The Ohio Northern women's basketball team moved up to a season high ranking of No. 3 in the USA Today Sports Dvision III Top 25 Coaches Poll and remained No. 4 in the D3hoops.com poll.

In the USA Today Sports poll, Northern received 177 points, which was 14 more than last week.

DePauw (Ind.) remained No. 1 with 200 points, followed by Hope (Mich.) with 192 points and ONU with 177 points.

The Polar Bears received 537 points in the D3hoops.com poll, which was 15 more than they received in last weeks poll.

DePauw (Ind.) stayed at the top of the poll with 623 points and 22 of the 25 first place votes, Hope (Mich) is ranked second with 594 points and the three remaining first place votes and Calvin (Mich.) is third with 553 points.

ONU was ranked No. 4 in last week's poll, No. 5 in the tenth poll. No. 6 in the ninth poll, No. 8 in the seventh and eighth poll, No. 9 in the sixth poll, was No. 12 in the fifth poll, was No. 15 in the fourth poll, was No. 17 in the third poll, was No. 20 in the second poll and was No. 24 in the first poll.

Ohio Northern has won a school record 23 games in a row and is 24-1 on the season, which is also a school record.

The Polar Bears are the top seed in the OAC Tournament and will be in action on Thursday when they host Muskingum or Wilmington at 7:30 p.m.
