Betty L. Crawford, 1928 - 2018

Betty L. Crawford, age 90, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.  

          She was born on October 10, 1928 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Charles H. and Arlene S. (Houck) Cox.  On December 1, 1946 Betty married Arden A. Crawford and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2009.

          Betty was the head cook for Upper Scioto Valley Schools for 25 years and helped run the family farm.  She was a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church of Kenton and had previously been a 4-H Advisor for several years in McGuffey.

          Surviving are two sons: Robert Crawford of Ada and Douglas (Connie) Crawford of Ada; two daughters: Barbara (John) Culp of Newton, Kansas and Sharon (Clayton) Calvin of Upper Sandusky;  three sisters: Joan Norman of Dayton, Roxanna Fry of Mt. Gilead, and Sonja (James) Oates of Kenton. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren:  Wayne Culp, Karen Sturchio, Betty Mooney, Amy Culp, Kimberli Bowen, Casey Crawford, Katie Schroeder, Lori Lowery,  Lisa Conley, Ty Calvin and Jaime Calvin; one step granddaughter: Joanne Ridout; 21 great grandchildren; 2 step great granddaughters and 11 great great grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death her daughter-in-law: Janet Crawford, brother: Charles Cox and sister: Carolyn Russell.

          Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor James Oates and Rev. Jody Oates officiating.  Burial will be in Dunkirk Cemetery, Dunkirk, Ohio.

          Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until the time of the service at the funeral home on Thursday. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Wyandot County, 105 Houpt Drive, Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
