Women's basketball moves up one spot in both D3hoops.com poll and USA Today Sports Coaches poll

The Ohio Northern women's basketball team moved up to season high ranking's of No. 5 in the tenth weekly D3hoops.com poll and a season best No. 6 in the USA Today Sports Division III Top 25 Coaches poll.
The Polar Bears received 497 votes in the D3hoops.com poll, which was 22 more than they received in last weeks poll.
DePauw (Ind.) stayed at the top of the poll with 623 points and 23 of the 25 first place votes, Calvin (Mich) is ranked second with 594 points and the two remaining first place votes and Amherst (Mass.) moved to to No. 3 with 569 points.
ONU was ranked No. 6 in last week's poll, No. 8 in the previous two polls, No. 9 in the sixth poll, was No. 12 in the fifth poll, was No. 15 in the fourth poll, was No. 17 in the third poll, was No. 20 in the second poll and was No. 24 in the first poll.
In the USA Today Sports poll, Northern received 155 points, which was nine more points than last week.
DePauw (Ind.) remained No. 1 with 200 points followed by Calvin (Mich.), Amherst (Mass.), Hope (Mich.) and Tufts (Mass.).
Ohio Northern has won a school record 19 games in a row, has an overall record of 20-1 and is in first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with an 14-0 mark.
Northern can clinch a share of the OAC regular season title with a win over Heidelberg on Wednesday.
Tip off against the Student Princes is set for 7:30 p.m. at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears will also have their annual "Hoops for a Cure" night in which the team will hold a bake sale and raffle off assorted gift baskets, with all proceeds benefiting charity.
