2 gain all-region honors in lacrosse

ONU juniors Andrew Fox (Solon) and Mitch Groves (Fishers, Ind./Chatard) each earned Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-West Region honors for their efforts during ONU's historic 2018 campaign.

 

The duo became the first two athletes in the programs history to earn All-Region honors for Ohio Northern.

Both Groves and Fox were also named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference this season, also becoming the first two athletes in program history to earn First Team All-OC status.

Fox was named Honorable Mention All-West Region this season as a defender.

The junior is ONU's all-time career leader with 99 caused turnovers and ranks third all-time with 106 career ground balls.

Groves also earned Honorable Mention All-West Region honors as a middle defender.

He scored eight goals with 33 ground balls this season.

The junior ranks fifth all-time at ONU with 30 career goals and ranks among the school's leaders in assists (15), points (45), shots (79) and ground balls (73) in his three seasons as a Polar Bear.

The Polar Bears finished the 2018 season with a school-record 14-3 record, won a share of the OAC Regular Season title with a 7-1 record and advanced to the OAC Tournament for the first time in the program's three-year history.
