Edwin D. Rowe, age 78, died on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:15 PM at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born on November 26, 1938 in Lynch, Kentucky to Marvin and Juanita (Brown) Rowe.
His father Marvin and mother Juanita Phillips preceded him in death, his step father Art Phillips survives in Orange Park, Florida.
On September 19, 1970 Edwin married Diana Lynn Smith and she survives in Alger.
Edwin retired in 2003 after working for 32 years for Ford Motor Company Lima Engine Plant where he worked as a job setter and welder. He was a member of the Alger First United Methodist Church.
He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corp.
Edwin was a member of the UAW #1219 Local Union, a member of the Grand Lodge F&A.M. of Ohio and the Sager Lodge #513 of LaFayette.
He served as a 4-H advisor for the Alger Jr. Farmers 4-H Club for eleven years and he served on the Hardin County 4-H council.
He is also survived by his two children: David E. (Mechel) Rowe of Alger and Kristen D. (Fiance Rodney Klingler) Preston of Alger; six grandchildren: Shelby (Cody) Rowe Henderson, Dustin Rowe, Cecily Preston, Liam Preston, Cole Butler and Kinsie Klingler; two brothers: Charles H. (Elizabeth) Rowe of Keystone Heights, FL and Melvin (Linda) Rowe of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Evelyn Rowe Buskill of Jacksonville Beach, FL: several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Athy Pfeiffer of Taylor, SC.
A memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, at the Alger First United Methodist Church, 101 East Montville Street, Alger, Ohio with Pastor Don Clinger officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International.
