ONU Symphony open to local residents who are musically talented

The Ohio Northern Symphony is expanding its scope to reach members of the community  and provide opportunities for talented musicians to play in an orchestra. There are openings for all string instruments, oboe, horn and trombone performers. The symphony rehearses Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.and performs five concerts each year in Ada.

The orchestra performs a wide variety of repertoire, including classical, pops and new music. The symphony has accompanied well-known pop artists such as “America’s Got Talent” stars Alice Tan Ridley and Neal Boyd as well as the Temptations Review and many others. 

 

The orchestra is committed to commissioning new works, including commissions of renowned composers Tonu Korvits, Stephen Davismoon, Joseph Curiale, Armando Corado Judd, Yehezkel Braun and Kurt Doles. Dedicated to playing works by living composers, the symphony has performed pieces by Mason Bates, Jennifer Higdon, Jesse Ayers, Arturo Márquez and more.
