Layton Wade Rogers 2000 - 2017
Layton Wade Rogers, 16, Kenton, died at 4:08 p.m., May 1, 2017.
He was born in Findlay, on June 24, 2000, the son of Robert Burd and Laurel Rogers.
His parents Laurel Rogers and fiance' Marc Minter of Dola, and Robert Burd (Brittanie Bradley) of Plain City, survive.
He is also survived by brothers Ryan Burd of Forest, OH, Bradlie Burd of Plain City, OH, and Wesley Minter of Dola, OH; sisters Elizabeth Burd of Forest, OH and Ellie Minter of Dola, OH; paternal grandparents Debra Wilson of Kenton and Robert (Robyn) Burd Sr. of Forest, OH; maternal grandparents Chris (Carol) Rogers of Kenton; maternal great grandparents Wayne "Speck" (Arlene "Skinny") Rogers of Kenton; along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Layton was a sophomore at Kenton Senior High school where he was a member of the Kenton soccer team and a member of Kenton FFA. He attended the Kenton Church of the Nazarene and spent time volunteering at the Hardin County Sheriff's Office.
A funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 6, at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Kenton with Pastor Dave Dooley officiating.
Visitation is Friday May 5, from 2-8 p.m. at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Layton will be laid to rest in Grove Cemetery following the funeral service. Schindewolf Stout Crates funeral home, Kenton, is handling arrangements for Layton.
