Ohio Northern University continues to fulfill its mission of preparing students for rewarding careers and lives of purpose, as indicated by the placement rates for the most recent graduating class.
According to the University’s Office of Polar Careers, 94 percent of students who graduated in 2016 have found employment or are enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduation.
This number is consistent with recent years, with 93 percent of graduates finding work in 2015 and 95 percent of graduates the year before. In all, 98 percent of the graduates of the class of 2016 reported on their status this year.
“Our placement rates are a testament to the relevant, high-impact learning experience that distinguishes Ohio Northern,” ONU President Daniel DiBiasio said. “They also underscore the University’s commitment to providing a more affordable college education while maintaining the high-quality programs that have always attracted students to Ohio Northern University.”
A total of 13 academic departments had 100 percent placement from the reporting students. Eight of those departments attained 100 percent placement for at least the second consecutive year. These are philosophy and religion, technological studies, accounting, finance, international business and economics, civil engineering, computer engineering, and engineering education.
All four of the University’s undergraduate colleges attained at least a 90 percent placement rate, according to the survey. The College of Pharmacy had 98 percent placement; College of Engineering, 97 percent; College of Business Administration, 95 percent; and College of Arts & Sciences, 90 percent.
