Ada harriers run at district event

FINDLAY - The Ada cross country teams competed in the Div. III district meet at Findlay Saturday afternoon.

The Ada boys ended up 12th out of 13 full squads. The Lady Bulldogs, missing injured top runner Abbie James, finished eighth out of eight full teams represented.

Ada senior Eric Armbrecht finished 51st in a field of 90 runners field to pace the Bulldog boys. Senior Larry Zembower came in 57th and classmate Andrew Ross ended up 64th.

Ada seniors Seth Evans and Keaton Kipker finished 77th and 81st, respectively.

Sophomore Olivia Ennis posted the top Ada girls finish at 29th place. Seniors Mara Guyton and Jil Wolber crossed the finish line in 44th and 45th, respectively.

Senior Andrew Krupp of Ottawa Hills won the 5,000-meter boys race in a time of 17:41.7. Ottawa Hills easily out-paced second-place Eastwood, 34-91. Ada totaled 307 points.

Morgan Dembowski of Toledo Christian won the 59-runner girls race by covering the 3.1-mile course in 18:31.51. Liberty-Benton won the girls team title over second-place Genoa Area, 34-65. Ada scored 183 points.

Only the top four teams and top 16 runners qualify for the Div. III Tiffin regional race next weekend.
