Ohio Northern University’s Office of Gift Planning and the Claude W. Pettit College of Law will host the 18th annual Estate, Business and Estate Planning Seminar on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
With its theme of “Conquering the Challenges of the Complex and Confusing Estate Planning Environment,” the seminar is designed for estate planning professionals and offers continuing education credit.
Featured speakers for the event will be Charles D. Fox IV, a partner in the Charlottesville, Va., office of the law firm of McGuireWoods LLP and head of its Private Wealth Services Industry Group, and John H. Martin, the Ella A. and Ernest H. Fisher professor of law at ONU.
Topics will include recent developments, including the impact of the November election, issues in closely held business succession, asset protection planning 15 years after the Alaska and Delaware legislation, and a review of past mistakes made by attorneys, accountants, trust officers and financial advisors.
Continuing education credit includes 5.75 hours approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio, 6.5 hours from the Ohio Department of Insurance, 8.0 hours from the Accountancy Board of Ohio, 6.5 hours from the CFP Board of Standards and 6.5 hours from PACE. The seminar fee is $135 and includes lunch.
