Pool passes on sale, discount for early purchase; opening day May 28

By Amy Eddings

Passes for the Village of Ada’s public pool are now available for purchase at the village’s Administrative Office at 115 W. Buckeye St.

Currently, there’s an “early bird pre-season sale” in effect.  Ada residents and taxpayers may purchase individual passes for $35.  Non-residents/non-taxpayers may buy their individual passes for $45.

The pre-season sale ends June 13.  After that date, the price of the passes goes up by $10, to $45 for Ada residents and taxpayers and $55 for non-residents/non-taxpayers.

“It’s a nice incentive to buy a little bit early,” Assistant Village Administrator Jamie Hall told village council members and Mayor David Retterer at Tuesday’s council meeting.

Village residents and taxpayers pay a lower rate for their pool passes because they pay a pool tax.

Hall told the mayor and village councilors that the pool slide is getting a new gel coating this week.  Other, more extensive, improvements are under consideration by the village.

Hall said construction plans are still being drawn up.  The improvements would include renovations to the bath house, including a new concession stand, a new splash pad and new concrete decking around the pool The project is budgeted at $1.5 million and construction is expected to start this September.

The pool opens at 1 p.m., weather permitting, on Saturday, May 28.  It ends Saturday, Aug. 13 at 8 p.m.
