Ruth Roiter says "Stop in and visit the Gallery."
There's a weekend open house in Ada and you are invited.
Ruth Roiter's Gallery for the Arts, 115 S. Main St., will hold an open house from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 8, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 9.
The Gallery features original works by Ada artists and artisans.
Roiter said that visitors will be served wine and munchies on Friday. On Saturday will be coffee, juice and breads. In addition a collection of Gallery items will be raffled.
When Roiter opened the gallery she described its purpose this way: “I set the stage. The artists are the performers.”
The gallery serves two purposes: as a place for local artists to display and sell their creations and as Roider’s own working art studio.
Roider, a retired elementary school art teacher, and longtime community supporter, says her art gallery is one way that she can support local artists and contribute to the community.
Six area artists have works on display and for sale. They are:
• Darlene Bowers, hand knit and felted pieces
• Virginia O’Connell, jewelry
• Lynn E. Scott, author
• Andrew Steingass, hand-thrown pottery
• Les Thede, woodworking
• Karen Ward, photography
Regular Gallery hours are:
• Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m and 2-4 p.m.
• Saturdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and weekly by appointment
