Certified!
Ada Police Sgt. Matt Purdy and K9 Jaeger attained Ohio Peace Officer K9 Team Certification on Feb. 22.
Jaeger was initially certified in October of 2015 and after a change in handlers, Jaeger and his new handler attended two weeks of training together, culminating in their state certification.
According to Roger Bice, Ada's trainer from Shawnee Run Kennels, Jaeger is one of the finest narcotics K9 that he has observed in recent times.
Jaeger is trained in narcotics detection, socialization, handler protection, tracking, area and building searches and criminal apprehension.
"We are excited to have Sgt. Purdy and K9 Jaeger on the job and look forward to many years of service," said Michael Harnishfeger, Ada police chief.
