99 quilts - everyone with a story or interesting history - in First United Methodist display

Story and photos by Monty Siekerman

Ninety-nine quilts were displayed at the First United Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon.

Most quilts tell a story or have a story about their history.
Many types of quilts were shown, including crazy quilts, appliqued, counted cross stitch, and pieced.

Quilts ranged in size from wall hangings to king size. In addition to quilts being practical, they are artistic expressions, heirlooms and beautiful.

Flowers of the Bible
Many hours of work went in to this large quilt designed by Nancy Fleming. It is titled "Flowers of the Bible." In researching for the quilt, she learned a lot about the flowers of the Bible. Club program chairpersons have asked to give talks and display the quilt. Those interested in having her talk may call her at 419-634-6911.
