Gary Lee McCurdy, 71, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 9:58 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems, Lima.
He was born on June 1, 1943, in Lima, Ohio, to Paul L. and Lois L. (Boyer) McCurdy and they preceded him in death. On May 6, 1977 he married Judith M. Schmenk and she survives in Ada.
Gary was a small business owner and a retired financial advisor. He was a 1961 graduate of Ada High School, and a 1965 graduate of Ohio Northern University. Gary was an accomplished pianist and an avid fisherman, as well as a Royal Arch Mason. Gary was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ada.
Also surviving are two sons: Mick (Frances) of Cape Neddick,Maine, and Joe (Emily) of Delaware, Ohio; three daughters: Cari (Dan) of New Market, New Hampshire, Molly (Clint) of Blacklick, Ohio and Katy (Eric) of Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren: Henry, Paulina, Charlie, Sam, Jude, Rett and Louie.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Claire, David and Jimmy McCurdy.
A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 222 East Highland Avenue, Ada, with Father David Young officiating.
The family will be present for visitation at the church from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday, March 28. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ada.
