Ohio Northern University Senior Cody Lovejoy was honored by the National Wrestling Coaches Association with the Most Pins award for the 2014-15 season.
Lovejoy led the nation with 24 pins against NCAA Division III opponents, the most in any division. The award is given annually to the Division I, II and II wrestler with the most pins against opponents in his own division.
Cody went 43-2 on the season with 27 pins overall and his 24 pins against Division III foes was the most of any wrestler in any of the three divisions. He also finished fourth in the Most Dominant Wrestler standings, averaging 4.76 team points per bout.
Lovejoy finished 1-2 at the Heavyweight division at the 2015 NCAA III Championships over the weekend. He is an All-American, finishing seventh at the 2014 NCAA II Championships.
Lovejoy is also the only wrestler in ONU history to win the prestigious Elite 89 Award, an honor given to the competitor with the highest GPA at each of the NCAA's 89 Championships events. He won that award in 2013 and again in 2014.
Lovejoy is also the only wrestler in ONU history to post two 40-win seasons, finishing 43-5 last year and 43-2 this season.
He finished his career ranked second all-time in ONU history with a 144-36 record.
