Ada Theatre: Jack Reacher (PG-13)

Starting Friday, the Ada Theatre will be showing the movie 'Jack Reacher', according to James Curlis, owner.  

Starring Tom Cruise, 'Jack Reacher' is the story of a homicide investigator who digs deep, deep into a case involving a trained military sniper who shot five random victims. To view the trailer, click here.

'Jack Reacher' will be showing Friday, Jan. 11 thru Thursday, Jan. 17.

Showtimes include:
Friday & Saturday - 7:00 p.m. and  9:30 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday Matinee  - 4:00 p.m.
Daily - 7:00 p.m.

$5,000 AEP grant to Hardin chamber

The Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance economic development division announced it has received a Local Economic Assistance Program grant from AEP Ohio.

The $5,000 grant will help Hardin County focus on maintaining, sustaining and growing existing manufacturers by reducing/eliminated barriers to their growth.

Nancy Sue Walker was a 1967 graduate of Ada HS

Nancy Sue Walker, 63, of Cambridge, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Beckett House in New Concord. She was born on Jan. 20, 1949 in Bluffton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Robert Runser and Maxine "Pat" (Patterson) Runser.

Mrs. Walker was an owner /operator of Hillview Acres Campground along with her husband John. She was a 1967 graduate of Ada High School.

She is survived by: husband John Henry Walker of Cambridge; a step-daughter Rebecca (Lucas) Hilleary of Noblesville, Ind.; a sister JoAnn (Ed) Simmons of Ada; a brother Robert (Linda) Runser of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and three grandchildren Sebastian, Isaac and Meagan Hilleary.

Kuhlman leads four in double figures in scoring with 17 points as men's basketball falls to Heidelberg 82-74

Senior Taylor Kuhlman had game-highs of 17 points and nine rebounds to lead Ohio Northern in an 82-74 Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball loss to Heidelberg Wednesday night at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears fall to 7-7 overall and are 3-4 in OAc play, while the Student Princes improve to 8-6, 3-4.

Kuhlman led four ONU players in double figures with his 17 points. Junior Branden Rushton and sophomore Isaiah Roux added 12 points each and junior Jared Horstman chipped in 10 points for Northern.

Heidelberg had five in double figures, led by Dane Givner with 19 points and Nate Davis with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Four score in double figures as No. 9 women's basketball defeats Heidelberg 76-65

Junior Cenzie Yoder scored a team high 18 points as the No. 9 Ohio Northern women's basketball team topped Heidelberg 76-65 on Wednesday night at Seiberling Gymnasium.

ONU, who has now won 12 in a row, improves to 13-1 on the year and remains atop the OAC with a 7-0 mark. The Student Princes fall to 5-9, 1-6.

Yoder went 7-of-12 from the field and also grabbed nine rebounds.

Senior Joanna Snyder added 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting, senior Morgan Dumbaugh scored 14 and freshman Brooke Espenschied added 11.

Yoder sunk a jumper to cap off an 8-2 run and give ONU a 48-37 lead with 12:06 remaining in the game.
