BVH Rehab & Sports Medicine sponsoring the 4th annual Flirt with Dirt trail 5K

Blanchard Valley Hospital Rehab & Sports Medicine and the Hancock Park District are sponsoring the 4th Annual Flirt with Dirt 5K Trail Run/Walk on Saturday, July 13 at Riverbend Recreational Area in Findlay. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., the trail race will start at 8:30 a.m. with the walk to immediately follow.

The course for the event is wood chipped, grass, and dirt trails with short stretches of asphalt throughout the park area. This is a USA Track & Field certified course and is an official 2013 Trail Runner Magazine Trophy Series Race.

ONU’s Baja SAE team caps off successful season with top-10 finish

The Ohio Northern Baja SAE (Society of Automotive Engineering) team capped off its 2012-13 season by finishing ninth overall, and third out of 100 teams in the endurance race category, at Baja SAE Rochester in Rochester, N.Y., from June 6-9.

The top 10 overall finishers were McGill University, University of Louisville, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Michigan, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Ecole De Technologie Superieure, University of Maryland, University of Wisconsin, ONU and Iowa State University.

Ada visited by Lincoln Highway tour of old vehicles on June 26

The Village Voice - Historic Lincoln Highway Tour to travel through Ada
This year, the Lincoln Highway turns 100, and Ada will get to see part of the celebration first hand on June 26th.

The Lincoln Highway was the first paved transcontinental highway in the United States, and would eventually pass through 13 states and stretching from New York City to San Francisco. The original goal of the project was simple, yet powerful – build a “coast to coast rock highway” to help American commerce and agriculture.

Bigfoot coming to Ada on Thursday (at the library)

Bigfoot is coming to Ada on Thursday. The Ada Public Library hosts a program on Bigfoot presented by the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization.

Mark Maisel, an Ohio Northern University graduate and member of BFRO, will present the program at 6 p.m., which is free and open to the public.

He will share Bigfoot siting information, share about the organization's research and also play audio clips of Bigfoot.

Kiwanis Key Leader presentation

Shelby Hazelton (left) and Mackenzie Wills, Ada High School students, attended the Kiwanis Key Leader program weekend earlier this spring. They reported to the Ada Kiwanis about the experience on June 11. The students told about how service leadership works and how students can become good leaders. The Ada Kiwanis Club sponsored the two to attend the program.
