Two good friends

Need a Christmas tree? Go to New Leaf

New Leaf Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada, has a wide selection of Christmas trees "and a whole lot more," says Laurie Laird of New Leaf.

The garden center offers fresh cut and ready-to-plant pine, fire and spruce trees, wreaths, roping, greenery and artifical trees.

Also available are traditional and unique decorations, peanut cluster candy, poinsettias, cemetery wrreaths, blankets and saddles.

Add a little fizz to your holiday in Saturday's "Handmade Workshop" at HealthChek

Add a little fizz to your holiday. 

This week's Handmade Holiday Workshop at HealthChek, is a hands-on, how-to creative concoction to make bath bombs/scented bath fizz balls.

Every Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas from 1-2 p.m. attendees will create a spectacular and unique item for themselves or perfect for that holiday gift giving.

HealthChek, a nutrition store now offering local art and handmade items created by local artisans, invites you to come and join the creative excitement explosion by making some fun and festive holiday creations and check out what’s new in the store.

Reservations being accepted for final two holiday luncheons at The Inn at ONU

Reservations are now being accepted for the remaining two December holiday luncheons at  The Inn at ONU.

Dining hours are 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Persons may choose a date, select an entree for each guest (groups of 2 to 8) and make a reservation by calling 419-772-2500.

Each entrée is $11.95 per person and includes entrée, non-alcoholic beverage, and holiday dessert. (Tax and gratuity are additional.)

January Tween discussion book now at the public library

Ada fourth, fifth and sixth graders - Tween Book Group - start reading the January book discussion choice from the Ada Public Library.

Tween meets to discuss "Crispin: The Cross of Lead," by Avi, at 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 10, at the library.

Here's a summary of the plot:

Begins with a funeral, that of a village outcast whose past is shrouded in mystery and whose adolescent son is known only as "Asta's son."
