Ada CIC pledge of support drive underway for 2015

The 2015 Ada Community Improvement Corp. (CIC) membership drive is underway. A membership for is an attachment at the bottom of this story.

A membership is $25 per year. The CIC is “a corporation for the sole purpose of advancing, encouraging, and promoting industrial, economic, commercial and civic development of our Ada Community and Area.”

Ada CIC meets on the third Wednesday of each month at noon, and the meetings are open to the public. The meetings often consist of a designated program or guest, as well as member update reports from those who are present. These meetings serve as an ideal place to hear the positive developments going on throughout our community.

ReStore teams with ONU students for skin scopes - and more

Preventive medicine.

Pharmacy students offered free skin scopes to those attending Crock Pot Tuesday at ReStore. The machine scans the face and can alert someone of precancer as well as oily, dry, or thin skin.

If there may be health issues found, the students recommend seeing a dermatologist. This scan system is the latest in preventive medicine.

Tom Gossel among ONU's Raabe College of Pharmacy distinguished alums

Ohio Northern University’s Raabe College of Pharmacy honored three alumni with Distinguished Alumni Awards on Feb. 13. This is the eighth year that Distinguished Alumni Awards have been presented by the Raabe College of Pharmacy.

Tom Gossel, a 1963 graduate, Kathy Karas, a 1975 graduate, and Peggy Piascik, a 1974 graduate, were recognized for their outstanding career accomplishments and their contributions to ONU.

Ruby Campbell was a cook at USV for more than 30 years

Ruby E. Campbell, age 81, died on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 5:40 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on February 25, 1933 in Hardin County, Ohio to Lester “Red” and Dora (Kindle) Preston and they preceded her in death. On August 2, 1952 she married Bradley Campbell and he survives in Alger.
