Here’s an update on Ada Kiwanis Club

The Ada Kiwanis Club met on Tuesday March 24, at noon at the new Ada First United Methodist Church.
President John Berg called the meeting to order.

The Kiwanis membership anniversary of member Bill Fuller (March 26, 2009) was noted.

In brief business:
Treasurer Bryan Marshall updated members on club finances, including updates on the recently completed 63rd annual Pancake and Sausage Day.

The club will hold a joint meeting with the Ada Rotary on Tuesday March 31st at the O.N.U. Inn. Ada mayor David Retterer will be the guest speaker.

Club members are invited to attend a fun night tonight at the home of Bruce and Sandy Neely.

University to conduct drug take-back day April 11

Ohio Northern University’s chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) will conduct “Medication Disposal Day” in both the Hardin Memorial Hospital parking lot and the ONU parking lot on the corner of South Main and E. College Avenue on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Arkin OAC men's outdoor field Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Dan Arkin has been named OAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
On Saturday, at the Cedarville Invitational, Arkin claimed a first place finish in the javelin with a throw of 181-0, setting a new school record and breaking the previous record of 179-7.

Ohio Northern won the Cedarville Invitational scoring 187 points.

ONU will return to competition on Saturday, when they compete at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.

Were you a member of the Ada HS Science Club?

The Periodic Table on the wall gives a clue to this club's purpose. It's the Ada High School Science Club during the 1973-74 school year. Mr. Markley was the club advisor.

The church steeples of Ada - how well do you know them?

Holy Week is here. The Icon challenges viewers to see how good you are at looking up.

Monty Siekerman photographed nine Ada church steeples. These are found in the attachment below this story. See how many you can identify.

There's a challenge in this contest. We've provide a "easy" series of photos that we hope everyone passes. Consider it a warm-up to the Icon Church Steeple Final Exam. In the final we've provided only photos of the very top of the steeples. See how you can master this final test.

And, there's a bonus. Two churches in Ada don't have steeples. See if you can identify those two churches.

Lots of announcements coming from Ada High School

ANY 7TH GRADER: who received a letter that they qualify for Beta Club and has not paid the membership dues, should do so by Wednesday, April 1. We use the dues to order all membership materials so we need to collect that money as soon as possible. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Breidenbach in the elementary office.

ATTENTION CURRENT SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: interested in the Film and Lit elective next year: There will be a meeting during lunch on Wednesday, April 1. Get your lunch and come to Mr. Ames' classroom to discuss the course and what will be required.
