Author Shelley Shepard Gray has book signing event on Saturday

Popular author Shelley Shepard Gray will have a book signing at the Ada Public Library at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 13.

Her most recent title is “The Proposal at Siesta Key,” released May 12 of this year.

Since 2000, Shelley has sold over 40 novels to numerous publishers, including HarperCollins, Harlequin, and Abingdon Press.

She has been interviewed by NPR, and her books have been highlighted in numerous publications, including USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.

Under the name Shelley Shepard Gray, Shelley writes Amish romances for HarperCollins’ inspirational line, Avon Inspire.

Rep. Sprague visits Ada library on Thursday

83rd State District Representative Robert Sprague (R-Findlay) will visit Ada on Thursday, June 11.

He will participate in a super hero-themed storytime for the children at the Ada Public Library at 1 p.m., according to Amanda Bennett, library director.

University study links lower life satisfaction to sleep problems during midlife

Sleep onset latency (SOL), the length of time that it takes to accomplish the transition from full wakefulness to sleep, during midlife could lead to lower life satisfaction, according to a study conducted at Ohio Northern University.

The research was performed under the supervision of Dr. Megan Clegg-Kraynok, ONU assistant professor of psychology. The data was collected as part of Midlife in the United States II (MIDUS II), a national study funded by the National Institute on Aging.

Lincoln Highway ByWay meeting June 12

A Lincoln Highway ByWay meeting takes place Friday, June 12, at 1 p.m. in the Ada Historical Depot. 

The meeting is open to all persons interested in assisting in this year's event, according to Angela Polacheck, Ada village administrative assistant.

 

First Baptist Church VBS June 22-26

First Baptist Church of Ada, 350 West North Street, will hold Vacation Bible School June 22-26 from 6-8 p.m. This year's theme is "Jungle Safari" for ages 4 through 12.  All are invited to come.  Children must be potty trained.

Auglaize Bible Church VBS June 16-19

Auglaize Bible Church will hold Vacation Bible School called "Operation Sword & Shield," June 16-19 from 6-8:30 p.m. "Operation Sword & Shield" is open to children ages 4-12. They will enjoy singing, skits, action stories, crafts, and refreshments. Everyone is welcome.
