Jerry Joseph 1950-2015

Gerald L. “Jerry” Joseph, 64, died on Friday, Aug. 7, at 3:34 p.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

He was born on Sept. 17, 1950 in Lima, Ohio, to John “Buck” Joseph, Jr. and Goldie (Courtright) Breece. His father survives in Arizona. His mother is deceased and dad, Robert (Vicki) Breece survives in Lakeview. On May 20, 1996, he married Kathy L. Mann and she survives in Harrod.

Jerry retired as an electrician from Continental Plastics, Lima, and DTR Manufacturing, Bluffton. He was a member of the Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533. 

Robert "Bob" Strohl 1958-2015

Robert "Bob" Phillip Strohl, 57, died Aug. 7, 2015 at his residence. Robert was born May 4, 1958, in Hammond, Ind., to Phillip and Donna (Austgen) Strohl.

Bob had worked as a construction worker. 

Survivors include his father Phillip Strohl of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a brother Richard (Laura Lee) Strohl of North Judson, Indiana; two sisters Christine (Peter) Claire of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kelly (Brian) Clum of Ada, Ohio; two sons Shawn R. Strohl of Whiting, Indiana, Nicholas Strohl of North Judson, Indiana; and two daughters Angela (Eric) Michaels of Wanatah, Indiana and Amanda Strohl of Valparaiso, Indiana.

Ohio Northern University’s move-in day features variety of activities

Ohio Northern University opens its doors to the 2015-16 academic year with the traditional move-in day for incoming freshmen and new students on Thursday, Aug. 20. Classes begin on Aug. 24.

Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw, ONU vice president for student affairs, said, “Move-in day is a great tradition at the University, and our staff has been working diligently making preparations for the incoming freshmen. We have several great introductory activities for the students to prepare them for life at ONU and to make their transition to college life easier.”
