On council agenda: First reading of legislation that changes waste-recycling contractor

Ada council will consider the first reading of legislation authorizing Republic Services as the solid waste and recycling contractor for the village. The action is on the Tuesday, Sept. 15 council agenda.

On Sept. 1 council voted to accept Republic Services as the community’s new waste hauler, because its sealed bid was lower than Waste Management’s. 

The contract is for three years, beginning Dec. 1, with an option to renew for another three years.

University observes Constitution Day with presentation on ‘The President and the Constitution’

Ohio Northern University will observe Constitution Day with a panel discussion on “The President and the Constitution” in the Pettit College of Law’s Celebrezze Moot Courtroom on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 4:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Scott Gerber, ONU professor of law, will serve as moderator of the three-person panel presentation. Each speaker will tackle issues concerning the executive office and the U.S. Constitution.

Don't forget Tuesday's Music on Main - at noon!

The Buy Ada First committee will hold a special afternoon Music on Main for Lunch at the Ada Depot Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Music will be provided by WONB 94.9 FM - From the '50s to today.

Jalapenos Mexican Grill will offer an assortment of lunch items, or persons may pack lunch and bring it to the park.

Liberty National Bank will offer free popcorn and water. This event will be held rain or shine.
The Buy Ada First is an Ad-hoc group. Participation is welcome.

Funeral service for Misty Howard on Sept. 14

Misty Renee Howard died on Sept. 9, 2015. She was born April 26, 1967.

Misty is survived by her husband Greg and sons, Mason (Logan) and Hunter and her soon to be granddaughter Charlie Sue.

She is also survived by her parents Larry and Linda Hattery, a brother, David (Kelly) Hattery and nephews Trevor and Tyler Hattery and her mother-in-law, Mary Howard.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Otis and Arizona Collingsworth, and father-in-law, Charlie Howard.

She was an avid photographer and babysitter.
