ReStore hosts free community Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 24

ReStore will hold a free community meal for Thanksgiving from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

All are welcome. ONU faculty and staff are donating the ham and turkey.

Sugar Grove United Methodist Church members will furnish the many pies needed. More than 100 people attend each year.

Alzheimer's Support Group meets monthly in Bluffton

Do you know someone living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia?  Do you wish you had caring support or more information about the disease?  You are not alone.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio provides a monthly support group for caregivers.

The group meets on the third Monday of each month, except December, from 3:30-4:30 pm. The group meets in the library at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

Co-led by Tricia Herrmann, RN and Emily Koogler, LSW, the focus is on mutual support, education and community resourcing. Call 419-358-1015 for more information and questions.

$2.9 million agreement will develop Advanced Legal Education Program for Afghan lawyers

The Ohio Northern University Center for Democratic Governance and Rule of Law and the College of Law’s Master of Laws (LL.M.) program will establish an Advanced Legal Education Program for Afghan Lawyers under a $2.9 million cooperative agreement with the United States State Department and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.

Bluffton man named administrator of Vancrest of Ada nursing home

Randy Cox of Bluffton has been named administrator of Vancrest of Ada nursing home, which is now under construction across from the school and slated to open in February.

Cox has a long history in the nursing home business starting at an early age when his parents owned a nursing home in Ottawa.

He has worked in nursing homes in Virginia, Lima and a Vancrest facility in Holgate.

The 56,000-square-foot Ada facility, located on 18 acres, will have 50 beds for skilled nursing care and 32 assisted living units.

They "scouted" for food
