Iconic Bakery: No Christmas cookie plate is complete without these

For Icon viewers getting ready to bake for the holidays, you can't have a cookie plate without meringue kisses.

There's probably more recipes for this cookie than any other in Ohio. Here's one we picked from the Ada Sesquicentennial Cookbook, from 2002. This recipe is provided by Ruth Brown.

Ruth Brown's Meringue Kisses

4 egg whites
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt

Everyone smiles when Santa's in Ada - here's proof

Photos and story by Monty Siekerman

It was all smiles from the large crowd of children and family members who attended Merry on Main at the Depot on Monday evening.

Due to a lack of snow, Santa hitched a ride from an Ada Police Department cruiser. When he stepped out of the car, many children's faces lit up as the Big Guy made his way inside.
He took his appointed place in a chair and began hearing the kids' wishes.

Cookies and hot chocolate were available, as well. Members of the Dance Fusion performed in the parking lot.

Do you attend Ada HS prom in 2000?

The Icon needs some assistance from the Ada High School classes of 2000 and 2001 - or probably from parents of these classes.

Here's an informal photo from the 2000 Ada High School prom. Sorry to say, no one is identified.
