Kevin A. Mierzejewski was active in many Ada organizations

Kevin A. Mierzejewski, 56, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at his residence in Ada, Ohio. 

He was born on May 17, 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Ralph A. and Shirley A. (Ribich) Mierzejewski.

Kevin was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lima where he served on the Finance Committee and was a Eucharistic Minister. He also attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ada. Kevin enjoyed being a pilot. He was an active member of the Ada community where he was a member of the Ada Rotary Club. Kevin was self employed.

Crestview shooting display downs Ada boys

ADA - Visiting Crestview shot a sizling 65 percent from the field to pave the way to a convincing 80-38 win over Ada in Northwest Conference boys basketball play Friday night.  

 

The purple and gold fell to 2-11 and 1-2 in the league with their ninth straight defeat. Meanwhile, the red-hot Knights improve to 9-3 and 4-0 in the NWC after their fifth consecutive victory.

 

Crestview started the game on a 9-0 run and never trailed. The Knights began half two on a 14-0 spurt and put the outcome far rout of reach with a 26-7 third quarter.

 

Ben Cosgrove is back in concert at Ohio Northern!

Ben Cosgrove, a traveling composer-performer, will give a concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Elzay Gallery of art. The program is free and open to the public.

His music explores themes of landscape, place, and environment in North America.

He has performed in 48 states and held artist residencies and fellowships with institutions including the National Park Service, the National Forest Service, Harvard University, Middlebury College, the Schmidt Ocean Institute, and the Sitka Center for Art & Ecology.

Women’s soccer season review: Successful!

The Ohio Northern women's soccer program climbed to new heights in 2017, following one of the best defensive seasons in school history and an NCAA Tournament run that bested any other run under the guidance of 14th-year head coach Mark Batman.

The Polar Bears posted an impressive 20-2-2 overall record, while posting a perfect 9-0 record in the Ohio Athletic Conference to claim the OAC regular season title.

Northern also claimed the OAC Tournament title for the first time since the 2012 campaign, earning an automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA tournament.

Men’s swimming and diving wins OAC

The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team won the Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season title outright with a 167-58 victory at Baldwin Wallace on Friday night at the BW Natatorium.

The Polar Bears improve to 5-0 overall and finish a perfect 4-0 in the OAC with the victory, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-4, 1-2.

Ohio Northern also claimed the Golden Kickboard trophy, which is awarded annually to the ONU-BW regular season meet winner.

ONU is now 12-2 all-time and has won 11 consecutive meets in the Golden Kickboard series.

Women win kickboard trophy

The Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team won 10-of-13 events and posted a tight 127-112 victory at Baldwin Wallace on Friday night at the BW Natatorium.

The Polar Bears improve to 4-1 overall and finish 3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with the victory, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 5-3, 1-2.

Ohio Northern also claimed the Golden Kickboard trophy, which is awarded annually to the ONU-BW regular season meet winner.

ONU is now 12-2 all-time and has won 12 consecutive meets in the Golden Kickboard series.
