Reminder; Parent-teacher conferences and Thanksgiving school schedule

The Ada Schools will hold parent teacher conferences on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Parent teacher conferences will be held  for grades K-12. Conferences for students in grades K to 5 will be student- led.   To sign up for a conference visit https://signup.com/go/nYLPppN/

There will be no school for students on Tuesday, November 26-29.

 

Nov. 18 Blood Drive at Ada Visiting Nurses & Hospice

The Ada Visiting Nurses & Hospice, 1200 S. Main St. will host a blood and pwer red drive on Monday, November 18 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The American Red Cross has this offer:

Give Nov 18 to Dec 8 for two pairs of custom Friends + Red Cross socks, limited quantity. Keep one, gift one!

Free Dobby

The Ada Public Library has issued this invitation: Please, help free Dobby! Miss Kari wants to keep him at the library but he is ready to go home for Christmas. Please bring in socks, hats, or gloves by December 1 so poor Dobby can be free!!!!

Baumgartner signs to swim at Ohio U

Ada senior has qualified for 2024 USA junior nationals

Ada High School senior swimming ace Lily Baumgartner made official what she verbally announced a year ago by signing a letter-of-intent to attend and swim at Ohio University next year. She also considered attending Marshall and Bowling Green, but decided on OU due to the comfort level and academic program. 

“I really liked the team atmosphere at Ohio,” said Baumgartner of her visit to the Athens campus. “I knew that their swim program was perfect for me. I liked how the coaches interacted with the team.

The Friends of the Ada Public Library have selected and donated five books for a December 14 prize drawing.

When you check out a book from the library, you may enter to win one of the following books:

I Walk the Line: Walking Pneumonia

On April 2, 1956, Johnny Cash recorded his first number 1 country hit I Walk the Line at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee.  The song crossed genres and ranked number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. In an interview, Johnny indicated he wrote the song about resisting temptation and being accountable in relationships.
