Note to churches: Send the Icon your VBS information

The Icon invites congregations in the Icon viewership to contact the Icon with your summer Vacation Bible School information. The Icon hopes to attend your VBS and take photos, but we need to put it our calendar so we won't miss it.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church Easter egg hunt April 13

St. Mark's Lutheran Church will hold its first-ever Easter egg hunt this month.

The hunt is at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 13. The event is open to the community. Coffee, milk, and donuts will be provided.

Icon wants Christmas church service information

Attention churches in the Icon viewership:

The Ada Icon wants to post stories about special Christmas services - youth programs, Christmas eve services and other special Christmas programs.

Christmas: Birth of a New Hope presented Dec. 15 at Ada Church of Christ

Ada Church of Christ, 316 S. Main St., will present "Christmas: Birth of a New Hope," from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15, at the church. The presentation is written by Jacob Reel.

The performance will be narrated by Reel and singers will be "Jericho Road," "One Voice," Ken Zeigler, Marlene Vance and Rachel Scott. 

The performance is open to the public.

Christmas assistance sign-up in October

Individuals and families in the Ada school district needing assistance with Christmas gifts or Christmas food are urged to sign-up for assistance in October at  the Ada Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. Persons may use the entrance off of Lincoln to enter the church.

Signup dates follow:
Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 27, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m.

United Methodist Women create quilt for a great cause - and you have a chance to win it

For the seventh year in a row, the Ada First United Methodist Women are making a queen-size quilt to be given away at the Harvest and Herb Fest. 

Tickets are available from United Methodist Women and the church office. Proceeds from the ticket sales support missions. 

The drawing will be held at the N-Men’s Club at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21.
