Junior goalkeeper Kelli Hill (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the April 8-14 voting period, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Last week, the Worthington native rewrote the school record books with a program-best 22 saves on a 62.9% save percentage in a 13-7 loss to Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday. She went on to secure 14 saves on a 77.8% save percentage in an 18-4 triumph over Marietta, guiding ONU to a 1-1 record on the week.

Ohio Northern senior infielder Hailee Loughman (Brookville) and freshman pitcher Maddie Anderson(Akron/Ellet) swept the Ohio Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors in softball for the April 8-14 voting period, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Loughman was named the OAC Hitter of the Week while Anderson garnered OAC Pitcher of the Week honors after leading the Polar Bears to an undefeated 4-0 record last week over No. 24 Baldwin Wallace and John Carroll.

Sophomore Vinh Thai (Galloway/St. Charles) broke a 4-4 tie with a thrilling 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles to lead the Ohio Northern men's tennis team to a 5-4 victory at Mount Union on Tuesday afternoon at Whitehill Courts.

The Polar Bears improve to 11-6 overall and stay undefeated in Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 5-0 mark, while the Purple Raiders fall to 9-6, 3-3.

ADA - Visiting Crestview pieced together a 10-run fifth inning to defeat Ada 16-2 in Northwest Conference baseball action on a warm but overcast Thursday night.

The loss dropped Ada to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in NWC play. The Knights improved to 5-6 and 4-1 in league action with the victory.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 after the first inning. Zac Swaney singled, stole a base and scored on a Brandon Hull double. Hull then came in to score on a Phillip Coulson groundout.

ADA - Visiting Crestview was relentless as the Lady Knights run-ruled the Ada softball team 24-0 Thursday on a warm but dark evening.

The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 8-8 overall and 0-4 in NWC play with the defeat. The Lady Knights improved to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in league action with the victory.

Crestview is second in the NWC standings, a game behind 5-0 Bluffton, who handed them their lone league loss.

Crestview jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and was never headed. Kali Small slugged a run-scoring triple to right field to make it 9-0 in the top of the third.

The Ohio Northern softball program bounced back from a 9-8 game one loss with a 9-8 victory in the nightcap to earn a nonconference split with in-state foe Wittenberg Monday afternoon at Betty Doughman Dillahunt Field in Springfield.

With the split, Ohio Northern moves to 18-10 overall this season. Meanwhile, the Tigers jump to 6-22 overall.

Freshman infielder Kara May (Saint Marys/Spencerville) paced the Ohio Northern offense with five hits in nine trips to the plate Monday, which included a three-for-four performance in game two. The Saint Marys native added two RBI, two doubles, and two runs scored to a strong offensive attack.
