BLUFFTON - The Ada Alligator summer swim team lost a dual meet at West Ohio Aquatic League foe Bluffton on a cool, overcast Monday evening.
Versatile Adaite Carlie Oldfield won five individual races across all strokes in the girls 13-14 age bracket to pace the Gators. She won the 50-meter freestyle, 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke, 100 free and 100 individual medley.
Gator Chloe Kemmere took first in four races in the girls 9-10 division. She won the 50 fly, 50 back, 50 free and 100 IM. Claire Kemmere finished first in three 11-12 events: the 100 free, 50 fly and 50 back.
Comes to Ada after one-year stint as an assistant coach at Trine

Zach Hurth has been named an assistant men's basketball coach at Ohio Northern University.
He comes to ONU after a one-year stint as an assistant coach at Trine (ind.) in 2018-19.
"We are very excited to have Zach on our staff," ONU head coach Rich Bensman said. "Zach's energy and enthusiasm are contagious. We had an outstanding pool of applicants and and feel very fortunate to have him at Ohio Northern."
A native of Lansing, Mich., Hurth attended Albion (Mich.) in 2011-15 where he was a four-year varsity player for the Britons.

The Ada Alligators beat Shawnee in their season-opener at home Thursday, June 6.
Ada won the combined team meet score, 415-192. The Gator boys triumphed 247-99 while the Alligator girls lost a close bout, 193-168.
J.J. Spyker (boys 11-12 age bracket) and Lily Baumgartner (girls 11-12) each won three races to pace Ada to victory.
Gators winning two events were: Landon Stahler (boys 11-12); Charlie Spyker and Tommy Spyker (boys 15-18); Joey Spyker (boys 13-14); Carlie Oldfield (girls 13-14); and Tim Chrissobolis (boys 9-10).

Erin Chrissobolis has been named an assistant men's and women's swimming and diving coach at Ohio Northern University.
She is in her first year as a full-time assistant in 2019-20 after serving as a part-time assistant in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
A native of Martinsville, Ind., Chrissobolis came up through the swimming ranks in Indiana swimming for her local YMCA team and later Center Grove Aquatic Club where she was a junior and senior national qualifier. In high school, she was also able to participate on a swim team that went to Germany with Sport for Understanding.

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have named senior baseball player Caleb Thomas (Strongsville) a First-Team CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-American at the designated hitter position for the 2019 season, the national office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Thomas is now a two-time CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-America selection after receiving Second-Team accolades during his junior season in 2018. With the announcement, the senior also becomes the first player in program history to receive First-Team Academic All-America kudos.
