ADA - Behind a potent offense, the 2019 Ada football team looks to rebound from an injury-plagued season as the Bulldogs come off their first sub-.500 campaign in 15 years.
A potentially explosive offense could help the Bulldogs return to playoff and league contention.
After winning their 2018 opener the injury bug bit Ada hard, and the purple and gold managed just one victory vs. Delphos Jefferson over the final nine games. The Bulldogs missed the playoffs for only the second time in the last 12 seasons.
However, there was a silver lining to all the tumult and adversity.
Women’s team
The Ohio Northern women's golf program will look to take another step forward in 2019-20. The Polar Bears have their vision fixed on the top of the conference following a fourth-place finish in 2018-19.
"I feel real confident with the women's team," seventh-year head coach Chad Bucci said. "This is my best recruiting class, and I see the team doing exceptionally well."
The success of Northern will likely stem from junior Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood). She won four of the seven tournaments she teed it up in last season.

The Ada girls soccer team crushed visiting Marion Harding 11-0 Saturday to win their home opener.
The win lifted the Lady Bulldog record to 1-2.
Ada senior Katie Butterfield set a program record for goals in a single game with five scores. Senior Ella Poling surpassed the school career assist record with three assists vs. MH to run her total to 17.
"We started very strong, scoring in the first two minutes," said Ada head coach Doug Poling. "We never looked back, scoring five more times before half."

The Ada cross country team ran its season-opening meet at the 12-team Ben Logan Early Bird Invitational last Tuesday.
"Overall, it was a pretty good meet," said Bulldog head coach Josh Klein. "The boys did not finish in the order I had anticipated - which is exciting, but also shows we have some more work to do over the next couple weeks to make sure we are getting ourselves in shape."
Ada senior Hunter Wells posted the best Bulldog finish. He came in 46th in the field of over 100 runners with a time of 21:56.7, which was three seconds faster than last year's first meet. "He is still working on getting his time down," said Klein.
