SOCCER
Junior Bryan Kern (Rocky River) netted the lone goal in overtime to lead the fourth-seeded Ohio Northern men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory in the OAC Quarterfinals against fifth-seeded Mount Union Tuesday night at Kerscher Stadium.
With the win the Polar Bears improve to 6-3-1 overall and Mount Union ends their season 4-5-0.
With 5:15 remaining in the first overtime period, Kern shot a loose ball that bounced out to the top of the goal box, and drilled it past the goaltender to the bottom left of the goal to give ONU the victory.

VOLLEYBALL
Ohio Northern junior Hannah Irmer (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball Libero of the Year, joining senior Hope Williamson (Noblesville, Ind./Herirtage Christian) and junior Melina Woods (Ada) on the 2020 All-Conference Volleyball team in voting conducted by the leagues 10 head coaches.
Irmer was also a First Team All-Conference selection. Woods was a Second Team pick and Williamson was named Honorable Mention All-OAC.

MT. BLANCHARD - Visiting Ada lost 8-4 to Riverdale in a non-conference softball game Tuesday evening.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 5-3 overall with the loss that snapped a three-game win streak. Riverdale improved to 8-1 with the victory.
Ada senior Leona Dalton doubled home two runs in the top of the first inning to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
But the Falcons plated three runs in the third to take a 3-2 edge.
A leadoff Dalton single in the top of the fourth was followed by Alexis Waugh and Katie Sizemore both getting hit by a pitch. Two passed balls and a hit by Kayla Wince helped Ada regain the lead, 4-3.

ADA - The host Ada tennis team played well but was edged 3-2 by undefeated Ottawa-Glandorf Monday night at the park courts.
The Bulldog netters dropped to 2-3 after the close defeat despite wins at the top two singles spots. O-G improved to 6-0 with the victory.
"Overall I thought it was a good experience for the team, and I appreciate their good attitude," said Ada head coach Dexter Woods. He reported that several team members even resumed practicing after the match was finished.
Ada senior Miranda Wills upped her season record to 3-2 with a comeback three-set victory at first singles over senior Carter Welch.
ADA — The Ohio Northern baseball team swept an Ohio Athletic Conference double header from Heidelberg on a wet and windy Saturday afternoon at Wander Field.
The Polar Bears (6-11 overall, 5-8 OAC) won the opener 10-9 with a run in the bottom of the seventh and took the nightcap 4-2 in a rain-shortened game that had its own late-inning drama.
The Student Princes fall to 10-8, 7-7.
Northern led the first game 9-3 entering the seventh inning and appeared on cruise control, having allowed only one HU runner to second base since the second inning.
