Thomas L. Williams was a U.S. Navy veteran

Thomas L. Williams, age 76, of Ada, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 4:42 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. 

He was born on October 13, 1945, in Lima, Ohio to the late Harry H. and Margurite (McElroy) Williams.  Thomas married Jean E. Lockwood and she survives in Ada.

Also surviving are his three sons: Tom Williams of Bluffton, Kenny Williams of Ada, and Bruce (Becky) Williams of Ada; eight grandchildren; a brother, Neil (Keitha) Williams of Ada; and two sisters: Linda Cheney of Ada, and Robin (Mike) Romick of Bluffton.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Bill Williams and Jackie Williams; and two sisters: Pat Morrison and Cricket Mefford.

Robin C. Harsh worked at Fiesta Hair Salon

Robin C. Harsh, age 61, of Ada, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 4:44 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System. 

Robin was born on September 1, 1961, to Willis E. “Gene” and Charolette A. (Austin) Fry.  Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in McGuffey.

Also surviving is her daughter and son: Amanda (Charles Cox) Flores of Columbus Grove, and Dusty (Breann Purcell) Harsh of Alger; five grandchildren; a brother, Matthew (Amy) Fry of McGuffey; and two sisters: Susanne (Barry) Bolen of Alger, and Sherri Harrell of McGuffey.     

She was preceded in death by a sister, Gina L. Fry.

2022 AHS royalty crowned

Kaitlyn Bowden and Carter Conley were crowned Ada High School Homecoming queen and king prior to the Friday, September 23 homecoming game at Ada War Memorial Stadium. On Saturday the homecoming dance theme will be Winter in Paris.

AHS golf team in NWC title meet

The Ada High School golf team competed in the nine-team Northwest Conference championship meet Thursday, September 22, at Hickory Sticks Golf Course in Van Wert.

Leipsic captured the league title with 347 strokes. The Vikings narrowly defeated second-place Delphos Jefferson by two shots. Lincolnview was a close third at 351 strokes. Bluffton finished fourth, with Crestview fifth (374). Spencerville was 
sixth (380) in the tightly-bunched field, followed by Columbus Grove (383), Allen East (389) and then Ada (525).

AHS Homecoming football loss 48-21 to Delphos Jefferson

The Ada HIgh School football team scored early but eventually lost 48-21 to Delphos Jefferson in a Northwest Conference contest on a chilly Homecoming Friday, September 23, at War Memorial Park Stadium.

Ada dropped to 1-5 and 0-3 in the NWC with the defeat. Meanwhile, the Wildcats improved to 3-3 and 2-1 in league play with their second straight win.

Three first-half turnovers and a dominating first half by do-it-all Wildcat back Andrew Miller contributed to Ada's third consecutive loss. DJ scored 48 unanswered points after the Bulldogs broke on top early.
