Veterans' Breakfast invitation by Ada Schools

The Ada School District  is sponsoring a veterans’  breakfast on Friday, November 11. 

Breakfast will be served from 8:00-9:00 a.m in the school cafeteria. There will be a speaker and brief presentation at 8:30. 

All veterans and their families, as well as active duty service personnel who live, work or worship within the boundaries of the Ada Exempted Village Schools are invited to honor the community with their presence on this day.

ODOT reports NB I-75 closed at 5:00 a.m. beyond SR 235

The Ohio Department of Transportation - Northwest Ohio District 1 reported in Hancock County that Interstate 75 northbound was closed beyond State Route 235 due to a crash involving multiple vehicles.

Robert Waters honored in Eagle Scout ceremony

In early October, Ada Troop 124 held a Court of Honor for Robert (Robby) Waters for attaining the Eagle Badge.

The court was led by Donald Waters, brother of Robby, and presided over by Don Spar and Tom Lehman, Scout Masters.

Fr. Ed Shikina, Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes, 300 E. Highland, told of Robby’s Eagle project, which was a beautification of the grounds and installation of female saint statues at the church.

New launch date for Artemis I Moon Mission 

Remember our excitement about NASA's Artemis I project and the involvement of ONU Engineering graduates? The September launch was scrapped due to Hurricane Ian and has been rescheduled according to this NASA report:

United Way recruiting CIC volunteers

The United Way of Hardin County is recruiting volunteers for the Community Investment Committee.

Organizers note, "Our CIC is the main committee that helps to determine allocations for our partner agencies to receive funding. CIC members will help to interview Partner Agencies and then work with our Board of Directors on the allocation process."

Ada Public Library celebrates its friends

The Ada Public Library is celebrating "Friends of the Library" week, October 16, 2022.

From the library:

"The Friends of the Ada Public Library is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the Library in our community. Friends help promote the library, develop activities, present special programs, and encourage reading and use of the Library."
