Five named to NCAA Division III men's soccer All-Great Lakes Region teams

Five Ohio Northern men's soccer players were named to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer All-Great Lakes Region teams.

Seniors Nate Bascom, Mac Church and Austin Windsor all earned First Team selections, while seniors Cameron Johnson and Chris Matejka were named to the Second Team.

Bascom earns his second straight All-Great Lakes Region selection. He was named as the Capital One Academic All-American of the Year. 

He broke the single season record for points with 54 and assists with 18.

Bascom now concludes his career as ONU's all time points leader with 155 and all-time assists leader with 43.

Tara Tokar and Kristina Klusek named to NCAA Divsion III women's soccer All-Great Lakes Region Team

Senior Tara Tokar and sophomore Kristina Klusek were named to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer All-Great Lakes Region Team.

Tokar was named to the First team, while Klusek was selected to the Second Team.

Tokar earns her third straight selection to the Great Lakes Region First Team. She scored two goals and recorded three assists for the Polar Bears.

Tokar was selected as a Third Team All-American and was named OAC Midfielder of the Year.

Klusek earns her first selection to the All-Great Lakes Region team. 

This season, she led the Polar Bears in goals, assists and points with 14, eight and 36 respectively.

Pamela K. Hall 1958 - 2012

Pamela K. Hall, age 53, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at 7:53 PM at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.

She was born Dec.16, 1958 in Jackson, Michigan to William and Rosa (Stacy) Minix, who preceded her in death. On May 28, 1997 she married Scott E. Hall who survives in LaFayette, Ohio.

Pamela worked at Community Market in Bluffton, Ohio for 9 years. She attended Hardin Northern High School. 

Jared Horstman leads men's basketball to 60-59 road victory over Baldwin Wallace

Junior Jared Horstman scored a career high 20 points to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to a 60-59 victory over Baldwin Wallace in their OAC opener on Wednesday night at Ursprung Gymnasium.

The Polar Bears improve to 5-3 on the season and 1-0 in the OAC, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-3, 0-1.

Horstman's 20 points came on a solid 9-of-12 shooting from the field. He also added nine rebounds.

Senior Taylor Kuhlman added a season high 13 points for Northern.

The Polar Bears  found themselves in front 55-54 with 4:18 left.

Kuhlman then drained a three to expand the ONU lead to 58-54 with 3:45 remaining.

Dumbaugh and Mengos lead No. 20 women's basketball to 64-42 victory over Baldwin Wallace

Senior Morgan Dumbaugh scored a season high 21 points and senior Kate Mengos notched her first career double-double to lead the No. 20 Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 64-42 victory over Baldwin Wallace Wednesday night at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improve to 6-1 on the season and 2-0 on the year, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-2, 1-1.

Dumbaugh shot 8-of-17 from the field, and 2-of-7 from behind the arc. She also snagged 7 rebounds.

Mengos finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

Northern held the Yellow Jackets scoreless for a span of 10:57 in the game.
