If only magnolias would bloom all year. The tree on the corner of the Ada Presbyterian Church shows off each year about this time. And who cares that you can't see the town through the trees.

Polar Bears play Case Western Reserve in Progressive Field

The Ohio Northern baseball team will play in Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Indians, on Wednesday, April 24, at 2 pm against Case Western Reserve.

Tickets to the game are free, but must be downloaded by clicking the link here.

Thanks to assistance from Ohio Northern's Student Senate, there will be a bus to the game, departing the ONU Sports Center at 11 a.m.

Gabrielle Metzner named OAC women's runner of the week

Sophomore Gabrielle Metzner has been named OAC women's runner of the week.

At the Kenyon Invitational on Saturday, Metzner notched two top-three finishes to lead the Polar Bears to a fifth place finish.

Metzner finished second in the 200-meter dash, posting a time off 27.90 seconds.

She also notched a third place finish in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.63 seconds.

Ohio Northern will return to action on Friday and Saturday, when it competes at the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Mount Union.

ONU captures two gold, one bronze award in National Robotic Challenge

Teams from Ohio Northern University’s Department of Technological Studies garnered two gold awards and one bronze during the National Robotics Challenge at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Marion, Ohio, from April 11-13. 

The first gold award was captured by an ONU team that designed, fabricated, programmed and fully documented a robotic work-cell that utilized a raw materials parts feeder, conveyor, CNC turning center, KUKA robot, and Allen Bradley PLC to autonomously control and manufacture finished chess pieces.

Women's tennis runs OAC regular season win streak to 25 matches with 7-2 victory at Baldwin Wallace

The Ohio Northern women's tennis team ran its Ohio Athletic Conference regular season winning streak to 25 matches and moved closer to its third consecutive OAC Regular Season title with a 7-2 victory at Baldwin Wallace on Saturday.

The Polar Bears improve to 21-4 overall and are 7-0 in OAC action, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 8-9, 4-2.

ONU would clinch at least a share of their third consecutive OAC crown and the No. 1 seed in the 2013 OAC Tournament with a victory in either of its two final matches, either at Capital on Tuesday or at home with Muskingum on Saturday, April 27.

Sheridan's 2-run home run helps softball split OAC double header at Baldwin Wallace

Sophomore Kelly Sheridan drilled a 2-run home run to lead Ohio Northern to an Ohio Athletic Conference softball double header split at Baldwin Wallace Sunday afternoon at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds Field.

The Polar Bears (9-11 overall, 8-6 OAC) won the opener 11-6 and the Yellow Jackets (19-15, 4-8) won the nightcap 9-0.

Sheridan's 2-run home run in the top of the first staked ONU to a quick 2-0 lead in Game 1.

BW grabbed a 3-2 lead with single runs in the second, third and fourth innings, but Northern answered with a 4-run fifth frame.
