Weather summary: Suddenly it's in the 80s

Four of the past six days have had high temperatures in the 80s. The monthly low is 38 on May 6. Guess it's okay to quit worrying about the plants freezing.

Here's the weather summary for the first 12 days of May provided by Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer. The summary is in the attachment at the bottom of this story.

Ada Library has your summer reading program planned - here's the details

Amanda Bennett, Ada Public Library director, reminds Icon viewers to stop by the Ada Public Library, Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Summer Reading 2014 Kick-Off.

The Library will also host a Touch-a-Truck event, 4-H animals, face painting, and a used book sale on May 31.

Sign-up for Summer Reading begins that day too. Summer reading is for everyone of all ages, and runs June 2 to July 11.

Where has the month gone? We are already in the second week of May and The Icon failed to provided viewers with the Ada Public Library May calendar.

Strike up the band

One of the great things about living in Ada is that music surrrounds us. Take for example the Ohio Northern University marching band. Members of the band performed highlights of their past seasons at the Ada Train Depot Park Friday night. Note to churches: Send the Icon your VBS information

The Icon invites congregations in the Icon viewership to contact the Icon with your summer Vacation Bible School information. The Icon hopes to attend your VBS and take photos, but we need to put it our calendar so we won't miss it.
